dearest lovers,
fast approaching july; the sun hears her cue. slowly she wakes from hibernation and peaks through the clouds like the curtains of dawn. let us rejoice in the promise of warm kisses on bare skin! do we share this seemingly universal solution? does the sun cure all of our sorrows and wash away all of our woes? (i know i am not alone, in the least)
pulling from the archives, i gift you with a naked plea. for a laney piece without the distress of painful love and the vulnerability to love anyways, would not be a laney piece, no?
do not forget me xx
love, laney
i loved you in ways i longed to be loved.
and if i ever foolishly forget to tell you,
remember the ravenous behaviors of
requited love.
that hunger of ours fed one another.
to consume you whole,
would be not enough.
your skin an asylum for my body,
your body a slaughterhouse
for my heart.
how long will i allow your
wreckage to consume me?
perhaps as long as i love it.
Thank you for reading love, laney. This post is public so feel free to share it.
